The interior design concept for this duplex apartment unit was founded on a sense of nostalgia, incorporating elements such as terrazzo flooring, vintage wall paneling, and classic slender steel profile doors and windows. These components serve to provide an aesthetically pleasing yet not overly simplistic backdrop for showcasing the owners' impressive collection of paintings, display items, and furniture, each with its own unique stories and origins.
An exceptional example within this collection is the inherited old church pew chairs, which the owners intend to utilize within the common study area.
The completed interior design is notably distinctive, exuding a sense of fun and abundant personality, attributable in part to the discerning taste displayed by the clients in organizing and curating the diverse display elements within every corner of their home, brimming with concealed treasures.
A significant feature of the residence is undoubtedly the powder room, discreetly concealed behind an entry door. During the construction phase, the revelation of raw, exposed brick upon dismantling the ceiling ignited the owners' enthusiasm for its untamed potential. Detailed enhancements were devised to elevate the design while preserving harmony with the remainder of the apartment. The exposed brick, imbued with rawness and vitality, has been adorned with the same white base as the apartment's other sections. Moreover, the laying of timber floor tiles in a herringbone pattern adds a touch of classic elegance.
