Crystal Wines @ CapitaSpring, Singapore

Located in the heart of Singapore’s financial district, on the ground floor of the iconic development CapitaSpring, the latest Crystal Wines retail shop takes an organic form synonymous with the fluid facade design of CapitaSpring. Occupying barely 60 sqm in area, the shop unit possesses a clear ceiling height of almost 5m. The design attempts to exploit this to the fullest.

Almost 80 fins of different curvatures joins the ceiling and wall in unity and form waves that seem to beckon the attention of passers-by to enter the shop. The hidden geometry of the wave, spacing of the fins and its division are all derived from the most basic denominator of the shop, the wine bottle itself. Wine display, storage, lighting, air diffusers, and sprinklers are seamlessly integrated within the wave, making this main feature a design masterstroke that unifies all.

On the two ends of the shop, mirror surfaces are introduced to expand the wave visually, increasing its dramatic effect and making the small shop look and feel much bigger.

Cradled by the wave, at the centre of the shop, is a counter almost 6m in length, acting as a display/ storage shelf and double up as a wine tasting counter.
