Semi-Detached House @ Pasir Ris Terrace, Singapore
This corner terrace house is situated on a fan-shaped site with a wide frontage. The client's request was to maximize the enjoyment of the spacious side garden while also enhancing privacy from the neighboring houses, especially from the 2nd story master suite at the front.
The proposed solution involves adding a simple cantilever car porch roof that wraps around the front and side of the facade.
This design allows the family areas on the ground floor to have fullheight glass doors, providing maximum view and access to the side garden.
The 2nd story master suite will be adorned with a new tilt-up horizontal timber screen, arranged artistically in front of the full-height glass windows. This screen will allow ample daylight to filter through and direct views towards the surrounding greenery of taller trees, while also screening off the direct view of the row of terrace houses across the street. It will also serve as a distinctive architectural facade that ties the entire facade makeover together.
Additionally, a new outdoor terrace is added on the 3rd storey to take advantage of the sea view above the roofs of houses across the road.
