This project encompasses a sophisticated set of specifications stipulated by both the client and the local government.
The designated site is slated for commercial redevelopment and currently serves an industrial function, comprising two primary factory buildings and six existing apartment blocks intended for worker accommodation. The objective is to establish a mixed-use development featuring commercial, hotel, and residential components.
Canyon-Inspired Design
The fundamental concept driving this project revolves around the notion of a canyon, creating internal commercial thoroughfares with varying widths and gently curving lines, offering the public a novel spatial and shopping experience.
The design of the office tower and hotel tower is informed by an imaginative interpretation of a vertically stacked ribbon-like accordion, reflecting the site's original purpose and the core essence of the client's garment factory.
The residential blocks represent a reimagining of high-rise apartment living.
Each apartment type is segregated from the primary core, facilitating enhanced cross ventilation and the potential for rotation to optimize panoramic views. Rather than being perceived as a monolithic block of units, this building type is conceived as an 'exploded' apartment block, interconnected by corridors and service cores.
